Toowoomba Metropolitan Rotary Club membership were given the gifts of knowledge, understanding and perspective during their morning meeting by two of the newest members to join the rapidly growing Toowoomba Club, Rojin & Waheed Rash.
Rojin & Waheed Rash, among our newest members to the Toowoomba Metropolitan Rotary club and members of the Ezidi community were our guest speakers at this morning’s meeting. The whole club was completely enthralled with their journey, history and in some cases, downright shocking information that they gave to us.
The Ezidi’s have come from some of the most trying circumstances one could ever endure which include being subjected to acts of genocide from ISIS. Whilst this made for some very sobering and even distressing realisations as to what happens beyond our borders, it was also heartening to hear about the culture, religion and the day-to-day practices of this group, who are very much our neighbours here in Toowoomba and part of our social fabric.
It’s wonderful to have you both on board with our Club and great to know that you are part of our town.
